In this series, I will write about South Indian Food – Typically Telugu food

#SouthieSaga – Garelu

A crunchy spicy festival savory

To ace this dish, a deft hand compulsory

Rinse thoroughly and soak the Uad-Dal, overnight

Add Coriander, Ginger, Chillies, Jeera, Pepper and make this, a paste tight

Now comes the tricky part

A family secret, I will part

Take a spoonful of thick dough in your palm

Make a ball, quickly dip this in water and pat it flat on your palm

Make a hole at the centre

Now Gare is ready for platter

Heat the oil in a sauce-pan,

Drop the small Garelu, as safely as you can

Serve it hot with coconut or ginger chutney

Eat them hot with family, Thank me later Honey
